Frightened

I had a truly frightening experience with Touchstone Lofts. After expressing concerns about the quality of their work and requesting some rectifications, I was met with aggressive and threatening responses. The company's representatives actually went so far as to mention debt collectors and bailiffs, creating a hostile and intimidating atmosphere. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I felt genuinely scared and harassed by their tactics. I would strongly advise others to steer clear of Touchstone Lofts if they value respectful and fair treatment.

Just terrible

I had a terrible experience with them and I regret ever signing the contract for a loft conversion. They overcharged me and could not clearly demonstrate what these charges were for. Paul Johal, the boss. is rude and aggressive when I tried to negotiate with him, and he became unreachable once he got the money. And unbelievably they did a shoddy job, left a mess, and damaged my property. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with and I advise you to stay away from them. I have informed Trading Standards.

Suppressing bad reviews

It has long puzzled me why Touchstone, with whom I have a current outstanding dispute, were receiving so many good reviews. I now have a better idea of why that might be. Having recently submitted a critical review of Touchstone myself, I was contacted by their office manager reminding me of clauses in their contract which forbid customers from making “derogatory or disparaging statements … which might be expected to damage or lower Touchstone reputation”. But she had failed to check the actual contract document which I signed back in 2022, which pre-dates the time when Touchstone Lofts introduced these additional clauses into their standard contract. So it seems anyone who may have had a bad experience with Touchstone Lofts in the last few years and is still in dispute with them may not want to risk a legal challenge which might jeopardize their case.

Dubious at best. Dreadful.

I am deeply unhappy with my experience with Touchstone Lofts. It is unfortunate when a company fails to meet basic expectations of its clients. Allow me to provide a brief review, highlighting the concerns I have. If I had known before signing a contract with Touchstone Lofts there were numerous other dissatisfied customers then I would have gone elsewhere. I only found out when speaking with another unhappy client of theirs when it was mentioned about Facebook containing other unhappy clients reviews and more; this creates doubts about their credibility and service quality. Furthermore, it has come to light that one of their previous company's, now dissolved, owes a charity £4,250 in rent arrears which has still not been paid, this leaves valid concerns about their business practices. I feel it is essential to share our experiences to warn potential customers and create awareness around the dubious practices exhibited by Touchstone Lofts, especially the owner. Dreadful.

Disappointing Experience with Touchstone Lofts.

I am usually an optimistic person, but my encounter with Touchstone Lofts was far from positive. My initial communications with them were promising, and I was excited to embark on the loft conversion journey, especially after everything Paul Johal had promised me. However, the experience turned out to be a frustrating and very expensive one. The first issue that I encountered was the lack of communication from the him. The project itself was riddled with delays, errors, and hidden extras. What was meant to be a 6-week project turned into a 42-week inconvenience. My experience with Touchstone Lofts was far from satisfactory. The lack of communication, project delays, additional charges, mediocre execution, and dismissive customer service all contributed to my Touchstone nightmare. I am very surprised this company is still trading given how it treats its customers. I would strongly recommend going elsewhere for your building project. Disgusting company and owner.
