About Us Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers' Mart has been auctioneering livestock, mainly cattle and sheep, since 1926 and Longtown Mart has grown to be the largest centre in the UK for sales of sheep. Cumberland and Dumfriesshire Farmers’ Mart P.L.C. took over the livestock auctioneering business of Thomson, Roddick & Laurie Ltd., at Dumfries Mart. Sales and lettings of all types of agricultural and residential properties including farms, smallholdings, cottages and redundant farm buildings. Sales of single farm payment entitlements and estate management services.

Sales of livestock have been built up over the years and Longtown Mart is now the largest centre in the country for sales of sheep. Cumberland and Dumfriesshire Farmers’ Mart P.L.C. took over the livestock auctioneering business of Thomson, Roddick & Laurie Ltd., at Dumfries and Thornhill Marts, as from 15th January 2001. This business is being run alongside the Longtown business.
